Corsa Exhaust question
I used to have a 97 C5 A4 and I had a corsa sport exhaust on it and i really liked the sound. I just got an 08 A6 and was thinking i wanted something a little louder. I have heard the borla stingers and im just not a fan of the sound. I heard a sound clip of the corsa extreme and really liked it. I then read that it was for manual trans cars only. Is that true? Does it not fit the A6 or just not sound right. Does anyone have this exhaust on their A6 because i really like the sound.

On the Corsa web site I see that their Extreme #14469 system is " Not acoustically recommended for Automatic Transmissions". You could give them a call and discuss it.

Get the sports for your A6 car you will be much happier, the extremes are LOUD and most likely will DRONE with an A6 car. Trust me the sport system will be plenty loud for you unless you have a hearing problem and want it really loud.

I had the corsa sports on my C5 with American racing long tubes, it sounded good but I just want something a little louder without being borla stinger loud. Does any one with an A6 Have the corsa extremes?

I have a manual C6 with Corsa Xtremes and if you are in to low a gear traveling down the highway you will get drone. That is why Corsa does not recommend the Xtremes for the A6 because the drone will be really noticeable with an Auto. I know you are asking for someones opinion who has them on there A6 but I can tell you from experience there is a slight drone even with my manual.

Was the 97 auto with the corsa sport silver with black interior? I only ask because I had one that was sold in Ohio. I think it had 60k miles on it when I sold it. It also had a blackwing intake on it as well. I sold it in 2004?

Oh well, Man I loved that car...Anyways, as you know it did have the corsa sports and so does my 2005 A4 and the sound is very much the same in IMO. I also have an S/C which makes it even more fun

Too each his own, especially when it comes to sound. However, most prefer their cars to be somewhat quiter when running at speed. The Corsa Sports on my 05 C6 A4 sounds perfect and is quiet at speed. You want the sound at startup and acceleration and here the Sports sounds better than the extreme - that's to me. My in car experience after fitting the Corsa's was that the sound moved from the front to the back where it became a subtle growl as apposed to a rather strong idle in front. From the Corsa website sound menu the Sports had a deeper idle than the Extreme - again, my ear.

Corsa on automatic
I installed the Corsa Sport on my C6 automatic and love the sound. Great agressive idle sound and great acceleration with zero drone at all road speeds. My wife even loves the sound. Be sure you install the cross over pipe as well as it eliminates that "kackle / pop) on deceleration. I thought adding the cross over was a lot of balogna but did it anyway and couldn't be happier. The Corsa and cold air system I added really woke the car up.

I have to agree with most every thing said so far. I have an 06 MN6 ,Z-51 with Corsa Xtream. It's also a vert. I love the sound ,with the top up or down. Pulling away from a stop the sound is strong and agressive or at hwy. speeds at which time the sound tends to be subtle. I have no problem listening to the radio except in a first gear pull away. Corsa does also state that they do not recommend the xtream on an auto for the previous mentioned reasons. Hope you get the sound your looking for. Good Luck and have fun.
