Default Which headers?

I've got a 2005 Vert, 6 speed with NPP exhaust, otherwise stock. I'm considering a set of headers. I don't want to give up any torque, and will not be drag racing or doing track days. Maybe some auto crossing in the future, but mostly street use. I'd appreciate suggestions as to the best headers for these goals. Also, what's the practical difference between 1 3/4" and 1 7/8" inch headers (yes, I know the 1/8" difference in tube size) - but what effect would this have on performance?
Thanks for your help.

the big argument has been that you gain a little top end power fromt he larger headers, and the smaller ones give you a little more low end torque.

The difference is very small but if you are not a racer, i would go with the smaller ones, they are cheaper. we are talking almost the same power. mnay many many threads agruing over this and mostly people swap and see 5rwhp/tq difference.

LG Pro long tube headers. I wouldn't settle for anything less.

Sounds like 1 3/4" would work just fine for you. If you have any future plans for more modifications I would go with the 1 7/8". You really can't go wrong with any of the big name header companies. These are all 304 stainless and have excellent fitment. Feel free to contact us with any questions and we'll be happy to help you.

The LG's have the longest primaries which provide the most torque.

When I win the lotto this weekend, I am grabbing an 08 A6 just to test header brands and end these endless threads.

I personally prefer Kooks 1 7/8's.

I would also go for 1 7/8's since you are never really "satisfied" when modding cars. You'll keep adding and adding and adding mods, atleast I do. You don't want to get stuck with those girlie 1 3/4's do you?
