Default "Active Handling Adjusting" what?

After getting off highway offramp at light the above appeared. Normal driving conditions, flat, dry roads, '05 Z51 6MN 20K miles. Took off from light "Active Handing On" appears, then goes away. This has never happened and didn't happen again rest of day. Anyone seen this or know anything about it? Could this be a warning of things to come re: the steering wheel causing some problem w/ active handling recall?

I believe the "Active handling On" message means that Active Handling has intervened to help you control the car. It stays on for just a few seconds after the situation has been corrected.

If you got this when driving conservatively, perhaps something is getting goofy.

Does your car have the fix?

The message of "adjusting" came on when I stopped at light after exiting the highway. Like I said, normal driving conditions, dry, straight flat highway to off ramp which was mild right curve then straight flat 1/8m to light. Then the message you would normally see when pressing the AHS button displaying AH - on. I have never seen the active handling "adjusting" message in th 5 years I have owned the car purchased new. Anyone ever seen this?

Does your car have the fix? I'm not sure what you mean, it would appear it did its "adjusting" and back to normal, I just would like to know why the "adjusting" message appeared?

We've owned a 2001, 2006, and 2009; about 130,000 miles total including autocross and HDPE in the 2001 and 2006. I've seen "Active Handling Warming Up", but never anything about adjusting. You've got me stumped.

Try posting over in the C6 General section, if you don't learn anything here.

Good luck!

There was a technical service bulletin (TSB) to repair this. Contact your local Chevy Dealer, they should have the info on this.

I cringe thinking about a dealer, but thank you for the reply. If I see it again, I will go through a dealer & post what I find out. Thanks e-body.

Actually it was a recall, you should've gotten a recall letter on this problem. I was in & out of the dealer in less than 1/2 hr.

These are the only Active Handling messages the DIC is programmed to display:

ACTIVE HANDLING
ACTIVE HANDLING CALIBRATING
ACTIVE HANDLING ON/OFF
ACTIVE HANDLING READY
ACT HNDLG-WARMING UP

You have to be certain about the message you saw. There is no Active Handling Adjusting message. I suspect you saw either the calibrating or warm up messages followed by the ready message.
