If you are running the stock cam the gain would be very close but the cost wouldn't.

Fast 102 intake cost me $822 with new gaskets delivered to my house.
Install = Free, I did the work.
Money back: sold my ported LS2 intake for $300
Now Fast intake cost: $522
Gain from Fast over Ported stocker = 19 rwhp & 22 rwtq

Heads cost on average: $1950 (ported 243 $1600 Trick Flows $2300)
Cost to install Parts & labor = $800?
Gain from the heads = depends on cam, but if stock it would be close to maybe a little more than the intake but the cost is MUCH higher.

I did not include the cost of the tune as you would have to for either choice.

This is why I went with the intake, I would do a cam before heads or together but why not have the supporting parts in place first when the gains are great and not the cost?

Couple things----I assumed you did a cam first--I was wrong----reworked 243 heads from Livernois or Lingenfellter are--$1200 with core exchange----Headers should be first---then cai--then cam --then heads---last--intake----that's what i did---worked good for me--those high cost cyl heads are alittle much for a street car---sanctioned drag racing--then YES !!
