Car wont start
First let me explain some things:1) 2007 C6 auto with 44000 miles
2) About 4 months ago I noted the volts were not the same as before dropping to about 14.5 or so . So I replaced the battery. The volts never went up after battery change Last 2 or 3 weeks the volts seem to be 14.5 or less sometimes dropping to 12-12.5 then a notice has popped up stating service charging system.
3) Instead of finding out what the prolelm is I started another project on the car. I am in the middle of installing a HUd unit .
4) First I disconnected the negative cable
5) So this installation pretty much means removing complete dash.
6) Tthis is really now an aftermarket installation using GM parts with an aftermarket wiring harness.
7) Removing the dash you need to unbolt the shifter and pull it back for clearance. Well first I had put the shifter back into park and the only way to get it out of park is start the car. Hooked cable backup and tried to start car. It would not start and I told helper to tighten cable more. It started. Unhooked cable
8) Completed removal, installed HUD & wired custom HUD harness into Black and grey harness @ back of speedo head.
9) Reinstalled all dash & switches etc
10) Now I tried to start car
1) Just get a click- ( when hooking up cable the horn did not honk as it usually does)
2) Ignition will not go into accessory mode
3) Doors will not open with fob or from inside except with manual latch
4) Trunk will not open with FOB
5) Fob placed into slot will not start car
Basically I got a car in garage with power (charged battery ast night. Anyone with any ideas? The HUD wiring is not connected and as the grey and black plugs into the speedo as well as the wire from speedo to control pod on right. I have started the car many times without all these hooked up. Could the shifter not be in the actually park position or could I have damages the nuetral safety switch? I does makes a click sound when I hit the starter switch. Or has it gone into a safe lockdown because of the electrical being messed with?
I am open to all suggestions
Thanks ,
Larry

The C6 CAN data buss is VERY SENSITIVE! If the data wire was loose and making poor contact causing noise or interference on the buss, the modules will NOT communicate and the car will NOT START!

I am in the C6 section
