I agree with battery...especially because of the cold.
1 - Yes, check tightness of battery cables (perhaps moisture).
2 - Check cleanliness of door release pads.
3 - Lube up your door lock latch and hinges. Good maintenace; see your owner manual.
4 - Not knowing how often you drive your vette, maybe a smart battery charger would be a good holiday gift.

Thanks for the input everyone. I swapped out the battery and for a week now have had no problems once I got a full charge on it. I will lube the door latches when I can.

Ok so the starting problem reared its ugly head again so I took it to the dealer and their diagnosis based on a bulletin is that based on the codes the bulletin said to check some wires and the result indicates the alternator is bad. I'm not convinced of this since the car does eventually start it just takes many pushes of the start button resulting in a click then finally it starts. If it eventually starts wouldn't that indicate that the battery is ok. I don't know which wires they checked to get the alternator result and I do get the SERVICE CHARGING SYSTEM message on the DIC occasionally and today the voltmeter actually fluctuated back and forth from 12 to 14 for a few seconds when the message posted. I guess I'll find out after they change the alternator. It is covered under my extended warranty so will only cost me $100 and they are changing out my radio too because the nav system is intermittent also.
I drive the car daily. This morning when it was 12 degrees the car started the first time. When I went to leave work the temp was 57 and it took me about 20 to 25 pushes before the car started.

THe dealer swapped out the alternator yesterday and so far so good. I mentioned my skepticism about it being the alternator and he showed me the bulletin. Apparently the alternator has been redesigned due to a short to the alternator frame so the battery wasn't getting fully charged. I don't really care what the deal is as long as it starts when I push the button the first time. It got to the point where I didn't want to drive to lunch because I wasn't sure the car would start.
