I have an 07 without Navigation but it has the Bose system with 6 disc changer. I would like to replace the head unit with a double din setup that has more options (i.e. ipod connection, hd radio connection, etc.... you get the picture). Those of you that have replaced your system, have you used an adaptor to utilize the Bose amp and speakers or have you replaced the entire system.
I know replacing the entire system is the ultimate way to go but for those that have kept the Bose part of the system what adaptor/setup did you go with.

I'm looking to do something similar in my non-Bose 2006. I want iPhone and built in Bluetooth, but not Nav. There is a Kenwood and a Pioneer unit, 2 Din that supports both for around 300 each (the Kenwood requires a Bluetooth option kit). I have also found an Adapter that alllows the Bose amps, Onstar, power off when door opens and the Chimes to still operate.
Check out Crutchfield.com, fill in your car and options and you can sort by all the features you want. It will also tell you if you need to use a specific adapter.
If you want your system to sound good then get the adapter for NON BOSE systems. If you want it to sound the same as the stock HU then get the adapter that IS for BOSE systems. Best option is to replace HU, all the BOSE speakers and get a sub. I myself run the BOSE tweaters with 6.25" MB Quart mids amp powered of course and a W6 12" sub. I do not run the rear speakers as there really is no point. Others I'm sure will chime in and say that you should. It's all personal preference. GL!!
