Default Strange window issue

I took a road trip this weekend to Dover Downs, Delaware. I parked my car in the lot and wento into the casino, no issues. When I came back to my car about 14 hours later both side windows had indexed below the roofline. The car was locked, nothing missing, not damaged and the roof was intact. Has anyone had this happen to them?

When I started my car the windows were able to go back up manually, and they closed properly after I started the ignition.

Any ideas would help.

Thanks,

DJ

The owners manual will tell you how to reindex them.

Did you notice if the windows indexed back up when you first left the car? If so, that would mean they somehow indexed down while you were gone.

But I seldom pay attention to the window indexing when I close the door, because it's always worked perfectly. I should start watching...

I can't recall reading this problem before.

Your C6 is an 07 vert, right? Does it have a power top?

1. Definitely re-index the windows.

2. BOTH windows indexed down -- just like they're supposed to, when you release the front latch on a power top. Make sure yours is securely latched.

I don't have a vert, so I can't check... maybe there's a switch or something on the latch that's causing the problem.

3. Might be time for a new battery. Lots of strange behavior has been reported with a weak/dying battery. Cold weather doesn't help.

4. The outside door touch pads have been known to corrode & misbehave. Any problem opening the doors? But, since both windows indexed down, I don't think the touch pads are the problem.

5. Are you REALLY sure about the windows? I mean, after 14 hours in a casino...

Let us know if you solve the problem. Good luck.

Do you have a "Window Valet" plugged into the OBD2 port? If so, unlock, unlock, lock commands the windows to go down about a half inch.

I do have the window valet, and I do have a convertible, 2007. The temp was in the 40's most of the day.

When I walked away from the car Im certain that the doors were locked and the windows were completely up. The idea about the window valet is interesting and I may have hit the unlock button once by mistake. I always hit the lock button twice to get the horn to beep so I know the doors are locked. That would certainly explain why both windows were down about 1/2 inch.

Thanks,

DJ
