New install? What are the brackets on the inside of the headers for?
Mine came with the brackets but I did not hook them up. It seemed to me that it would over-constrain the headers. Plus the four 1.75" tubes are plenty strong, you really don't need to support them down there. If the headers heat up more than the engine block (which they will) they will try to expand more causing a lot of strain at the brackets if they are bolted to the bell housing. Personally I felt that was a terrible design and not only not necessary but could cause future problems. My headers have been on my car for 4 years without an issue.

He is correct..do not use them.
Sounds like a very early set of C6 Pro's to me. If that is the case then yes do not use them.
They were first there to help center the headers in the car to make install of the rest of the system much easier. We found out that on track cars they had enough twist to the drive train that the headers would crack there at the tabs, so when we did the first revision of them for the LS7 we killed the tabs and they are no longer there.

Either way, leave the bolts off.
Thanks Anthony,
Would it be ok to cut them off?
