nav install question ???
If you have a 1 or 2LT you can get info by searching or asking in C6 General and/or the Audio/Electronic Forum. Or contact C5BearsFan but he's usually in the Audio Forum anyway.
1. Clumsy, non-intuitive command structure
2. No input for an MP3 or Ipod player
3. Passenger cannot change destination while car is in motion
4. Has maps on DVD's which are clumsy to use and are expensive to upgrade.
I looked into a couple of Kenwood systems which correct all these problems and have additional features as well such as real time traffic and Bluetooth for a cell phone.
With some special cables, aftermarket Nav systems can be made plug and play. You will lose the XM radio and the instructions on the HUD but you will gain a lot. If you don't have XM or HUD, you lose nothing.
After a lot of thought, I decided to keep my OEM Nav system and go with a portable Garmin system. I intend to modify my OEM Nav system to take an MP3 input (wiring available from a forum member) so I will only really use the radio part of the system.
