Default Octane boost

Our Vette club has reserved a local drag strip for the club to have a play day.

Local station premium octane level is 92 or 93, with some unknow quanity of ethanol.

Would a can or 2 of Octane Boost improve 1000 ft performance on a fully stock 07 C6? I was thinking it was primarily just ethanol, maybe I'm wrong.

Up to 10% is what is approved for use in all motor vehicles sold in the US, so your pump gas will contain approximately that.

Real octane booster is primarily just MMT (Methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl), unless you get the cheap gas station stuff which is then usually Toluene or some other crap and has marginal to no benefit whatsoever. A can of octane booster will raise a tank full of 93 octane gasoline to 94.something but since your car is designed to run on 91 octane, the only benefit is that you will be racing with a slightly lighter wallet.
Fill her up with 93 and call it good.

What I suspected, thanks. I do remember getting a couple mph out of the old AMACO white premium gas in the 60's in a small runabout. Not really very scientific but we sure thought it was a big improvement when the boat would only run 33 mph with Exxon, and 35 with the Amaco.

Have everyone drive up here, to Springfield, managing to have your cars running on fumes when you get here. Fill up with 94 octane, ethanol free pure gas at the Eagle Stop Phillips66 station on Battlefield Road. By the time you drive back to the drag strip in Arkansas, you will be down to the correct amount in your tank without having the excess weight to slow you down.

Real racers will go the extra mile to win.
