With 450 rwhp, I just checked my fastest scan and I'm at 91% duty cycle, but just touching it at peak HP, from 6700-6900. It's below there for the rest of the run. I have stock heads. I suspect that if I added TF heads and upped power to the 513/450 range I'd be at the limit of stock injectors or a little past.

You can reach 450 rwhp with stock heads, obviously. More like 460 if you have stock gears. You can likely keep your stock injectors if that's your goal.

I'd recommend thinner head gaskets if you get a cam, .040's increase compression to 11.4 and gives you back some low end you lose with a cam. I had 386/379 with bolts ons too, and I didn't lose anything down low with the increased compression. The FAST is also a great mod, worth every penny.

If you want bigger injectors my friend is selling a set of 42 lbers.

Hope to see you at the track or Towers.

OP, did you get bigger injectors with your setup?
I have stock injectors.do i need injectors now?thanks,chris

Are you sure? With that power I'd bet you have 42lbrs. If I'm at 90% with 450 rwhp you must be out of injector with 513!

But EG would have scanned this and kept you safe. I sure would think you have new injectors.

A Meziere is an electric water pump. Worth 10 rwhp or so.

Hey Joe,

I think I remember Jeremy from HPS telling me that the stock injectors could get you in the 500-525 rwhp range. He did cringe a bit with that info, so it seems that he didn't feel entirely comfortable about recommending that. I think I read a thread by Spin a while back that said he was making 500ish on his stock injectors at 97-98% duty cycle.

SouthTexasBully,

If you have a copy of your dyno, take a look at AFR. If it appears to be leaning out in the upper RPM band (ie, drifting up with a constant AFR demanded), I would think that the stock injectors can't keep up with the car's power. Something to consider.

Get that sucker hooked back up to EG and let them know what is going on. I'd do the work yourself if you can, but stick with 1 tuner since you are in the area.

Not sure of the duty cycle percentage but we've paid close attention to them via HPTuners and no concerns with my car/setup of them being overworked.

Look fwd to hearing your results and ask for the 2nd sheet this time around. It's the "properties" information that states all the stuff I mentioned before. Really helps to paint the whole picture as I've made a "ton" of tuning runs on a DynoJet over the years.

I am running a 97% duty cycle. If I add anything else then its going to be
Fast 42's.

Great numbers, suprised to read a few of the guys with ~500rwhp are still on stock injectors. Depending on the weather when you logged them you could be over 100% in good air(ie -DA) I wouldn't want to risk it on a motor with that much money invested. IMHO, Chris

We always go with bigger injectors when adding heads.
