Top problem follow up
Thanks to Rick-T for the info. You guys give me some thoughts on this. When I stop my top and Tanneu (sp) cover in the 1/2 way up position so I can snoop around in there, the Tanneu latch will start cycling up and down by itself...(without the button being pressed). Not sure if this is normal or not. I don't really want to try and diagnose the other problem for several minutes while this latch is cycling up and down as it probably isn't good for it. I know I could disconnect the battery, but hate doin that cept as a last resort. Anyone know if this cycling is normal while the top and cover are in the open position and why it may be happening ? Ive NEVER had a Convertable up till now. Just purchased a 2011 GS in OCT. When I see ANY Vert top post with an issue or info I always view the post for new info.
I do know this.
To properly trouble shoot it, you WILL need a service manual. Having access to a GM TECH2 is also very helpful. If you want to keep you car out of the STEALERSHIP and CASH in your wallet,, purchase the Service Manual NOW!

ALL the top functions are precisely sequenced and MUST follow a very detailed event schedule. In the VERT TOP Troubleshooting procedure, there are detailed steps on how to isolate each issue.
