does any kno if there was an recall for the t56? Its a known problem for the 1st and 2nd sychronizer to go out and with the poor build of the transmission.... ie alumi shift forks. Would be nice but I highly doubt it... Bty my 06 c6m lt3 orginal owner had an extened warrenty on the car from gm. It was bumper to bumper warrenty, his is still active according to my dealership but they dont kno if his warrenty would run over to me and cover my car

Its NOT the shift forks that are the issue. Its normally the platic shift fork pads and keys that wear/break.. Once they break or wear out, it compromises shift quality and the synchros start to wear.
Heres a post that does an excellent job with letting you see the insides of a T56:

There have been no recalls on the T56 issues. It is not that big of a concern. We work on 40-50 Vettes a month and only do a trans repair once in every coupld months. It is more driver induced then anything. Our car has 24k very hard miles with multiple track days, over 150 passes at the strip and over 500 Auto X laps with no trans issues at all. If they get low on fluid or you do not change fluid on a regular basis, then you will have issues.
