Default will a dealership program a used BCM?

I am looking at purchasing a used BCM to replace what I believe is a bad one in my 2006 C6. Will the dealership program it or will they insist I buy from them....Also is there anyone else who can program this or is it strictly a dealership deal. My car has serious gremlins with the latest be the seat sliding all the way forward.....it will fully function in every direction except sliding back and forth once it moved forward and stopped.....Any Ideas?

You take it in they will program it. However, why do you think the BCM is bad? The seat memory module could be causing the problem. Have you taken the car somewhere to check the codes so you can see what is going on? You need to go to a shop that has a fully capable scan tool not just an OBDII scanner or tuning tool. If the BCM is bad there should be BCM codes. You could go to all the trouble of replacing the BCM and reprogramming it just to find out the problem is still there.

A Tech II is all that is required for a BCM program.

It might be. However, if there was an electrical problem with the seats a code will be set. Have you had somebody with a good scanner read the codes. You are shooting in the dark with a blindfold on using blank ammo if you don't get the codes read. Here are the codes that could be set by the power seats:
DTC B1336
DTC B1420
DTC B1735, B1740, B1745, B1750, B1755, B1760, B1815, or B1820
DTC B1825, B1850, B2355, B2365, or B2375
DTC B1826, B1851, B1861, B2356, B2366, or B2376
DTC B2757, B2762, B2767, or B2772
These codes don't tell you what part is bad they tell you where to begin your diagnosis and there are diagnostic procedures listed in the SM for each one of them.
