I just installed the Vararam CAI and Corsa Sport on my 08 C6. Around 2800 RPM there is a slight supercharger/turbo spooling squeel. I have no clue what it is but I do know it was not there before I installed the CAI. Is this normal?
I took mine apart the other day to check my filter and to my suprise the foam gaskets had moved and the spaces it caused could let dirt into the engine. I removed all of the gaskets, then pulled the double side tape off the foam and used yellow weather strip glue to apply them. I made sure I had a good seal to the air cleaner. For as much as these things cost I was not impressed.
I have the newer version of the Vararam and saw no reason to re-glue the seals. They fit very well now. The whistle is because you have an air leak. Something moved on you when you put the bottom and top together, or you have a leak at one of the flex couplers.
Did you install the throttle body spacer? If so, re-check those bolts. Suppose to re-tighten them after a heat cycle or two.

Unless they are now using something other than the double sided tape, I would check it regularly to make sure the foam has not moved. The engine heat melts that tape.
