Default E-force install questions

Hi Guys,

I'm in the final throws of installing my E-force but am stumped on one part and require a bit of clarification in another.

Here is the stumped part:

Part 155: "Install the small factory vacuum hose running from drivers side firewall fitting on the small fitting on the drivers side of the air inlet"

Here is a pic of the part it shows in the diagram on the SC (Brown small connector in middle) Next pic shows what I believe the factory vacuum hose.

My question is, Is this the correct hose and where does the other end connect to?

Thanks in advance

Steve

What kit?

The only 2 hoses that come off the firewall (besides fuel line) would be the EVAP line that you show but I am pretty sure the one the instructions are referenceing is for the optional NPP exhaust.

This might do better in the Forced Induction forum. I don't know if Motorhead even looks in OTHER forums on here. He's the install guru.

Frikkin hell, thats going to be a pain in the butt....

Got it all fully installed last night and left that open, I'll pop by Checkers/Autozone and pick up a length of rubber pipe and bend it back. Was the earlier post correct saying that it could be the NPP?

Drove the car to work today, she drives like a dream, I can't believe that I held out so long, if anyone is on the fence, go for a ride and feel the difference for yourself.

Correct, that is your vacuum source to feed the NPP exhaust. If you don't have NPP then you need to cap that opening or you will have a vacuum leak.

I'm having the following error codes:

Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 1
Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 2

Could they be related to not having the connection capped?

I also am also experiencing the "Duck" sound for horn, I see this has been discussed on the following link http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-f...install-4.html

Did you go with the 549hp kit or the 599 kit? How hard would you rate the install?

A vacuum leak will trigger codes P0171 and P0174. If the MAF is not calibrated properly, this can also throw codes P0171 & P0174. After my install (Kit 1593 - 549hp) and using Edelbrocks supplied tune, triggered both lean codes. To eliminate these codes required recalibration of the MAF (Engine > Airflow > General Airflow > Airflow vs Freq low and Airflow vs Freq high) by more than 30%. Even after you plug your known vacuum leak, elimination of these codes may require MAF Calibration.

Duck horn is the E-Force bracket. Reuse the OEM bracket to mount the horns and attach the OEM bracket to the E-Force bracket and you lose the duck call from your car.

When I installed the 1593 Kit on my 06 Vert, I just reused my OEM bracket for the horns and did not use the bracket supplied with the Edelbrock Kit. When installing my kit I removed the horns and horn bracket. When the instructions called for installing the horns I just reused the OEM bracket, returning it to it's original location. In my case I was stumped as to why Edelbrock provided a different bracket.

Did same here. If you use the supplied bracket the horn wont sound right. Its too thin I believe.

Nope, just the opposite. Its too thick and doesn't allow the horns to vibrate.
