After reading this, I now know why I wrote a check and had some tune it.....
Lol, I don't understand the tuning aspect, I've called a few places and if they were close I'd be able to have them do it, but I don't know anyone in New York that does this.
Believe me I'm at the point I'd pay just to get this fixed. If it took hp tuners then I'd buy it, but I don't know how that works

I've never used the tuner device you have and I think I'd not use it. EFI live and HP tuners are all I see people using. I would be very carefull about making changes that you can't log and analyze.
It's fun and easy to learn how to do things the right way; but it will take alot of time... Greg Banish's Calibrated success DVD's are a great tool to get you started. They show up for sale on this forum from time to time. You can buy them and sell them when you are done if you are cash pinched. Also I'll say that Greg has always been helpfull to people on the forums so buying the disk new would be rightous.
e-bay also has alot of hptuners listed for sale used and afordable.. that would let you get started doing things the right way.
Try starting a new thread in the tuner section. a local guy may have a tuner and be willing to help.

Thanks a lot for the advice and guidance, I do want to learn this stuff as this is now modern engine modification standard. I miss the old bolt on and adjust carbs and what not, but that stuff is like the Stone Age now.
It does nothing for you unless you are using it in a situation where your praticular tune requires more air flow resolution.
If you combine this sensor with the right intake it can measure more air flow more accuratly... Thus if you have a forced air system that would overwhem the LS-2 style sensor with its smaller diameter intake tube and lower range, you will benefit from this sensor combined with the larger cross sectional diameter pipe (larger pipe = slower air flow = lower frequency out of MAF = more air measured for a given frequency).
If you tuned in speed density then this is useless, and if you have a big blower it has limited value. I'm running about 9 lbs of boost and I've never realy pushed the car past ~6000 rpm. If I recall correctly I max out even the LS3 style MAF at about 5800. I'd have t go back over old logs to be certain. So at any rate the upgrade gives me ability to log and tune through a marginaly greater range; but in the end I found that a SD tune ran better and was easier to tune (for me).

Thanks again for the help.
I agree to an extent, but the new system will allow you to safely produce far more horse power than the screws ever could. I'ts like having a NASCAR mechanic reading a dozen sensors and turning the screws up to ten times a second while you drive.
If you can tune a carberator then this method is in your reach too, the principles are all the same. The computer just let's you add "what if's" to your ideal tune. For example what should the fuel system do when the engine is undertemp, or what if there is a sudden drop in voltage... All the extra information you put in the computers data tables just allow you to tell the motor what to do in a variety of situations.
well there is another issue with doing this and why you need HPTuners or EFILive. The IAT transfer function is different. The scale can be as much as 30 degrees different in areas. That needs to be fixed since intake temp is also a function of the fuel calculation.
