whats a goood cam for 2005 a4 cars , i want a mild but post aggresive also tell us the diffrence with the change of cam and HP increase Tq and drive ability
do a search for SPINMONSTER on here. his cams work very well. he reccomended a cam for my 05 A4. it works very well and has great driveability and idle.
Thunder racing has a new line of cams out called the Tru Torq. Their lvl 5 is very interesting.
227/239 .614/.621 115 LSA
I'm going to be having Shane at Thunder grind me a cam similar but with a bit more intake duration and slightly more exhaust. Will end up being a low 230/low 240 cam, but they said they expected the lvl 5 to eclipse 450rwhp in an A4 setup with all the boltons. I believe it's built on their proprietary lobes.

Unless you are changing the tq converter, you might be wise to keep it on the mild side. Low to mid 220's on the intake side with a little more on the exhaust side. You leave a little power on the table in the last thousand rpm, but you'll like it more everywhere else.

Agreed, if you aren't going to be changing torque converters (I highly HIGHLY recommend that you do) I'd stick to something like the TSP 224/227 cam or the Thunder Racing Tru Torq lvl 2 (223/230)

I've had cams on either side of those. The high teens low 220's are pretty mild and could be bigger. When you get into the upper 220's/low 230's, you need those super tuners that I haven't been able to find. I've heard of folks getting along great with 230 cams and stock converters. Just hasn't been my experience. For an off the shelf cam, MTI has a 223/231 cam that sounds interesting. Don't know the LSA on it, but 114 would be nice.

In the LSx world (late model Corvette, Camaro/Firebird, GTO etc.) the term 'cam only' always includes the supporting bolt on modifications (headers/X-pipe, cold air intakes, intake manifold, clutch, gears etc.) that people have often already done prior to installing the cam. The shortblock and cylinder heads still being bone stock.
It does NOT include any type of cylinder head machining/milling or gasket changes though, only a replacement of the valve springs allow it to fall under the 'definition' of 'cam only.
Of course if one were to literally swap out only the cam and do nothing else that too could be called 'cam only', it might even be called 'literally cam only' LOL.

Look like LSL lobes to me. We've used a slightly smaller cam with a stock converter in a CTSV.
For some reason I was thinking it was a proprietary lobe designed off of the LSL. I could've gotten incorrect information though or maybe was just thinking about something else
