Default Vibration

I have a question for the team. Way back when we went to Carlisle heading North on 95. Speed limit was 70, sometimes traffic would see 80 depending on flow. Well when I hit the flow speed I noticed a vibration. So, I figured it was tires. When speeds are below 70 it was not as noticable. I heard alot of complaints about those GY tires which I had 12,200 starting to show wear. I decided I would install some new Michelin A/S ZP's. This would be the first time out on new tires. Tire pressures are at 33 all four. Last night I went out on the bypass where the speed limit is 70. It rode smooth. I went up to 80 and it still has a vibration. I feel as if I decided to carry it to the track to exceed 100 mph range I would have a bad vibration. Any suggestions? Before you ask yes I did have those Road Force Balance. I watched the tire guy balance them and he showed me the numbers which were close to the 0mark. Where else do I look? It not like I'm going to run 80. I'm just preparing if I should decide to go to the track. Mine is a C6-06 LS2 M6.

Did he tell you (or show you) what the Road Force measurements came out to be after being "Road Force Balanced"? If it actually was road forced balanced then he should have provided those numbers, but a lot of time they don't. Road Force should be under 20 for sure, but some people/cars can notice any road force above 10.

Have you played with the tire pressures? Recommended from factory is 30psi which might be worth a try. Otherwise, I'd check wheel bearings.

There is a GM bulletin out about vibration, I think it also mentions tolerance-stacking with the wheel studs as one possible problem. There is a copy on this site somewhere, or your dealer should be able to find it.

Good luck, keep us posted.
