Default Flash/Tune products

Hello,

Im looking into flashing tuning programs. Especially for the Z06, ZR1, and the Cadillac CTS-V.

I`ve come across these 3:

-HP Tuners
-EFILive
-LS2-Edit

What are your experiences, thoughts on the 3?

Any comments very welcome, as here experieces with these programs are more or less zero...

Many thanks!

This has been beaten to death over the years so many times it's not even funny. You can download HP Tuners and EFI to play around with them. They both do the same thing(essentially). I personally use HP Tuners because everyone I know locally uses it.

Greg Banish also has a couple of DVD's out on tuning. Calibrated Success is his companies name. The first DVD is the basics and he shows you HP Tuners and EFI Live. The 2nd DVD is more advanced topics and geared toward EFI Live. Once you are used to the interface, it does't really matter which one you are talking about though. It's all the same stuff. HP and EFI might have the same chart, but plot the axes differently. There are a few different tuning theory books also by different authors. Greg has a couple books also.

Whatever one that you decide to purchase,, pick one that people/friends in your area use. If you have friends that have XXX brand and are very familiar with XXX and you get XYZ, it will be difficult for them to help you learn how to properly use your XYZ.

I chose EFI Live because I have three friends that use EFI Live locally and they help me tune.

Your learning curve on setting it up properly and making ALL the correct adjustments will be VERTICAL! At least it was/is for me.

Once you figure out what needs to be adjusted in your ECU and how to do your tuning set up, you will be amazed at all the stuff that you can do.

You cant go wrong with either EFI Live or HP Tuners. I do not have any experience with any other set up.

A finial note and warning. Once you get your tuning set up of choice, when ever you are up loading a TUNE,,, MAKE SURE THAT YOUR BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED and do not turn on or turn off any internal electrical loads. If the up load is interrupted, you could corrupt and damage your ECU.
