$950 for a balancer repair? Wow, I would be calling someone at GM to discuss that. This is a known problem, and was a recall issued for it on 2005 models. My car has the hood liner scuffed up from the belt coming off with the previous owner due to the balancer. If I had to pay for a repair I would be installing aftermarket balancer, and pinning the crank.
I am unaware of this being a recall on the 2005 model. Where did you get this info?
