Default Glove box replacement DIY

My old glove box had a nasty mark on it, so I bought a used replacement from a forum member.

Looking at the hinges I'm puzzled how to get the old one out, and the new one in

I'm looking for a DIY if possible with photos.

Thanks

Fred

I have removed mine and its just a matter of playing with it. It looks like it wont come off but it wasn't difficult. I wish I could tell you more but if you get under there and move it around you will figure it out easily. First thing is undo the little elasticy cord so you can flip the glovebox door all the way down. Good luck.

I tried for 2 hours to get the darn thing you, eventually stopping before the thing drove me insane. Loads of plastic nearly breaking noises, but no success.

Wish I could help more. From what I remember you unhook the limiting cable and then press the little tabs that keep it from opening too much. Then the door should swing right down(all the way open). Then just pull straight down and it should unhook from those clips that hold it. I remember it looks impossible because the center one is opposite direction of the end clips, but it comes off. Good luck..

Instrument Panel (I/P) Compartment Replacement
pg 8-353 in my service manual

1 - Open the I/P panel compartment
2 - Squeeze the sides of the compartment drawer and pull the compartment past the stops.
3 - Disconnect the electrical connections to the compartment.
4 - Lift the compartment assembly from the compartment hinge.

The above would be the glove box door and glove box compartment assembly.
Then there is a trim panel behind the door that attaches to the dash with clips and screws...just pull out trim panel if you want that remove too.
