Default Check engine light

Ive had my ls2 C6 for about a week now. I took it to the car wash today and sprayed it off, while driving it home I noticed the check engine light come on. I was wondering what might be the cause of this, I don't have a way of hooking up to it yet to check for trouble codes. Any help is greatly appreciated. Car still runs and idles great.

Ok here is what you should check if the light continues to be on..... Check the solinoid for burn spots or cracks on the terminal ( they are prone to failures ... If it is bad, swap it out .. Do not buy a full starter unless you want to waste money) ... Next your alternator ... See what Amps it is pushing out ( personally I would swap it out to a higher amp one as the stock is barely adequate ) and finally load test your battery.... I think you will find your problem in one of these 3 items.

Could be related to water intruding somewhere or perhaps just a coincidense.

Without a scanner to read the code you are pretty much SOL. Owning one of these cars out of warranty eventually requires the purchase of a basic Can2/OBD scanner or paying a mechanic to troubleshoot issues.

Check your gas cap. When you screw it on do not apply any pressure on it. Just turn it till it clicks a few times.

Did you spray the engine? If so I wouldn't do it again. Some auto shops will check the codes for you. Usually they don't charge for it.

It helps alot to have the actual codes , letter & 4 numbers for all that were found. Really can narrow down to best solution that way.
