Bought a base model 2007 in March. It has performed flawlessly up until this afternoon. I opened the garage and found the car with a dead battery.(not from lack of use-just completed a 250 trip this past weekend.) I jumped the car and went for a ride. I stopped at a car wash to blow the pollen off and opened my door to find water on the seat.
I noticed that the window does not go down that little bit when opening and back up that little bit while closing.(passenger door works fine) The car has never done this before. Could this somehow be causing the battery to drain? Do I have the dreaded electrical gremlin?
Try to "index" the window...just with the car running, open the window, then push the button to close it & after the window reaches the top "HOLD" the button for another 10 sec.
You mat want to repeat this a second time.. its called "Indexing the Window"
I'm NOT sure if this is your problem or not but it cant hurt to try it.. then see if it will go down the 1/4" and back up when you open and close the drivers door...
I'm sure there are others here with more knowledge about this subject than me.. but for now give it a try..
Some of the previous posts about how to index your windows are incorrect. The PROPER method for indexing windows is in you owners manual, and it reads as follows:
1. Close the door
2. Raise the window and hold the switch up for three seconds after the window is closed.
3. Release the switch, then hold the switch up again for three seconds and release.
