Well, Im finally enjoying my BBQ and Beer and won't get around to pulling it apart, but looked closely before and it looks like the anti-rattle spring on both sides may be the issue...more to come later this week....thanks for all the help and information.

I think GM must be using a new supplier with that stuff as I had to change many sets of those last year for noise related issues. Never on Vettes though but it wouldn't surprise me.
I wonder if the original owner changed the pads.

Or maybe he had complained to the dealer about brake noise/dust, the dealer swapped pads on him as a customer satisfaction remedy and didn't say anything.
