I got her all buttoned up and everything is good so far. Not as loud as I thought it would be but sounds good on the throttle. The cam that is coming next will have it sounding good.
Once I dropped the starter out I was able to force the passenger one through. People who do these in the future may just want to to that right away if you are having trouble.
You'd think for the stupid money those headers sell for... that they'd actually fit without having to beat them in.
Sounds like the install was a huge PITA.
I have Stainless Works headers on my car and they were a breeze. Didn't need to pull the starter or anything. They fit right in.
Maybe it was just me or the fact that I was on my back with floor jacks and jack stands but the SOB didn't want to go in. Drivers side was a piece of cake and was done in a short time. Passnger was the tough one.

There's a TON of room for headers. I can't believe you had to pull the starter.
If you want to do a pain in the a$$ set of headers... try a set of Hooker 2-1/8" Super Comps in a '69 Big Block Chevelle with a kickout oil pan and Brodix (raised port) heads. (The headers need to be in before the engine goes in)
sounded tougher than a workout at Golds gym.I was breaking a sweat just reading his posts.Pay someone next time ...lol
nah I like working on my own stuff where possible. Although it gets frustrating at times it is rewarding when its done. It beats days in the office imo. Plus it means more extra money for mods
Well over the last little bit I have developed a little exhaust leak. I am thinking on the passenger side header. I adjusted everything under the car and its still there so guessing thats got to be it. Time to redo it this weekend.

I have American Racing Headers and they went right in too, no starter problems or frame interference.
