Yes. My LS3 5th gen Camaro made 423 rwhp with intake, tune and headers. That comes out to right around 500 bhp. The Vette should do the same if not a little more.
500bhp yes. I think the above arguments were about 500 rwhp. I think with an CAI, full exhaust and a mild cam you could net somewhere near 500 rwhp. BUT The cam / tune would have to be very aggressive thus I think you would lose daily street manners. 500 bhp, I bet you could hit fairly easy without losing your street manners. THIS IS ALL from pure forum knowledge and my own research. I own a stock ls3 and simply read here to build knowledge so this is purely my thoughts based on what I remember reading here over the last few years.
Next year I plan on headers, cat delete, bigger injectors and E-85 (with npp). I am thinking from forum only experience that I can get 450-460rwhp. e-85 alone has put around 425rwhp in an mn6. My bone stock ls3 on a 98F ambient day put 381hp/362tq to the wheels. Good Luck and let us know how it works out numbers wise please.
I'm thinking of making a few performance upgrades to my '11 GS coupe (6spd manual) with the goal of increasing low rpm torque and achieving 500+ hp. The plan includes adding the Halltech Beehive air induction, a slightly hotter cam, headers, and a tune. But I'd perfer to NOT cut the factory NPP exhaust.
So the question is this: Are there headers out there that replace the stock factory manifolds without modification to the exhaust system .... and what is the performance difference between the short tube vs. long tube designs?
Had my 08' LS3 built with the goal of mid-range tq (my driving range if you will) and ended up with 530/486 rwhp. You're on the right path, but I think a couple of other things would be required to hit 500. You can pm me if you like and I'll send you the list of what the builder did with mine. Great driveability and very lively.
