Automatic Tranny Rough When Cold
Yours is 'broken in'.
When you say 'cold' , just how cold are you talking about?
When you say 'knock', do you mean sorta hits hard when it shifts?
I'd say that someone is pulling your leg and time to deal with a different dealership.

Regarding the "knock", yes, it hits hard when coming to a stop.
Lastly, it's the one of the largest Corvette dealers in the Los Angeles area. That's why I took it to them instead of my small and local Long Beach Chevy dealer.
i dont consider an HARD downshift automaticly in Drive to be normal, or require 2-3 minute car warmup, nor consider a 8K+ mileage car to be NOT broken-in.
actually, i dont ever feel the downshifting when just casual driving in D , and have no clue what gear the AT is in.
i bet if you let the dealership (or a friend) , take one out for a test drive you will not feel your problem.
i looked to see if i could find other posters with your problem/question..
here is some (they also dont consider it normal) You might PM the poster on this link and ask if they found a solution yet...

note chucks last sentence in post #5 (Using a TECH II you can do a "fast controller learn" if you need it done quickly)
