I would like to know what other cars use the same starter as the one on an 08 ls3 because no one has one for the c6 corvette but I would like to know if one for a 1500 truck with the 6.2 in it would work or something else the dealer wants 463 for one and that's just not going to happen
Thank you
fyi... a replacement solenoid from a starter/solenoid repair shop will run about $25 (i have read) and/or if our game for it, try and call these folks and see if they know what solenoid you need (then let us all know)

thanks for the help yea it was just the solenoid the positive terminal melted off the thing completely was just dangling. I ended up having a shop rebuild it for $40. but what a PIA with headers on that's for sure and I'm getting a heat sheild for it tomorrow as there wasn't any around here today.

checked under the hood of my c6 2008 c6 m6..the solenoid looked good but i wiggled the bat cable and it wiggled the nut assembly... not good...BYW have ARS headers and that was not the cause as i have heat shielding in place.... wonder about the amp draw of a dewitt double fan and big *** radiator.. had the disconnect plug to the fan melt on the inside last year or so.
i am doing the solenoid change today.... had the intermitant starting issue last week.. the forum discussions were all very simular and enlightening.... Fracking starter ..
wondering if the post is overheating from the excessive output of the alt..what about rerouting the alt wire to the postive post at the fuse box.
