Last trackday in my '07Z noticed the car would buck when I let off the gas abruptly. I thought that perhaps I had overheated the clutch due to my newly-found heel and toe downshifting skills.
I was at the track again today and noticed the bucking was still there, although it happened only a few times. However, during the second session the engine check light came on. Since the car seemed to be running ok, I decided to keep going and finished the session. When I started the car for the third session the car's idle was erratic, going from 900-500 rpm and when I took it onto the pit lane, it would buck and almost stall out when I hit the gas pedal hard; it was running erratically. Then in about a minute, it all cleared and ran normally. After that, every time I started the engine it would idle and run erratically, then clear after a couple of minutes and run fine, with the idle steady at 650 rpm and running normally in all gears. Engine check light is on steady.
I did a search on the forum but not much applied directly to my issue......I would appreciate any help from the combined wisdom of the forum. Thanks.
If the light is on and you don't have a reader, any auto shop (autozone/oreilly/advance) can read and print the code for you for free. That would be the best place to start I think.
Had a buddy read the code and reset check engine light......code was P0101 which indicates a MAF issue. Should I just clean it? Anyone experience this issue with their C6Z?
