If my 2008 Z51 sits for a few days It will take a long time to unlock and power up the car. Normal? Have not been able to determine what causes it to allow entry and start. Sometimes seconds - sometimes minutes. Ideas?
Lithium batteries build up an internal resistance (passivation) layer in them when not used that causes their voltage to drop. The longer they aren't used, the worse the layer will become. Then once you use them, the layer breaks down and the voltage returns to normal and they start working properly.
I suspect this is what you're experiencing. It gets worse as the batteries age. It's probably time for you just to replace your FOB batteries. They only cost a couple bucks, but just be careful opening the key FOB, because they are poorly made and its easy to break off the tiny plastic tabs that hold them together if you aren't gentle with it.
