I am in the process of getting a ZR1 tranny and diff setup for my C6! I know the trans is fine but what about the diff...should I go ahead and have the hardened shafts installed or is the stock shafts strong enough for some heavy duty dragstrip action! I know it would be best to but money is starting to get tight here around Xmas time LOL!
BTW if anyone is interested I will have my trans and diff for sale soon!
Send a PM to Rick@RKT56, he knows everything about that those tranny and rears. Those rears are indestructible!!! The materials used are better then the standard and Z06 rears.
Oh yeah I know they are definitely stronger as far as the case and gears I was mainly wondering if the 300m or stronger shafts in the diff need to be installed!
Although the differentials are strong, nothing is bulletproof. As hard as you launch, the new 300M shafts would be a major upgrade.
Or if money is a concern, just run it until it breaks and then replace both. It's possible that you may not see breakage. ( According to Murphy's Law, breakage occurs at the most inopportune time. )

Although I think I have been using up all my luck on my current setup as I have an 05 diff in the car right now but it's been flawless and seen multiple 1.4x 60' launches!
Holy schit, seriously? 1.4's through an '05 diff behind a 6 speed?
Can you play some Lotto tickets for me if I Paypal you?
I even got a 1.38 once....have made two 9 second passes and about 15 6.3-6.4 1/8 mile passes! Unitrax is the company that built the diff they said it shoudnt break LOL this was 3-4 years ago when it was built and I bought it off my friends car when he traded his car in!

THIS^ but like C5RichieRickKid said pm Rick he can answer any questions you have
If you can afford the driverside shaft I recommend the upgrade as I can't think of a passenger that has broke being that its shorter, that will keep a little money in your pocket
