Default Cold Air Intake

Can I get some opinions on what the best cold air intake system for my 2009 C6 Coupe is?

Airaid will give you 85-90% of the gains of any of them at half the price. Mudflaps.com is where i found the cheapest prices on them.

But remember you will need a tune with the intake or you might get some minor surging from a lean condition. Do you have a good local tuner?

Everybody always wants the best, but if there truly was a best, only one would exist and it would be a moot question.

BTW, I use a Vararam because I wanted maximum performance. I use it with a Donaldson filter available through Amsoil because I wanted excellent filtration too.

there can only be one, and if you look at the fast list and 1/4 mile percentage times the only one way out front for the ls2 ls3 is Vararam

If you want an increase in performance get the Vararam... Otherwise just stick with the stock setup, its about as good as it gets......

I have a 3 week old SLP Blackwing kit for a LS3 for sale. I had to remove it when I installed a E-Force supercharger. This kit flows 99% more air than stock.

You sure about that? 99% is stretching it a lot.

Who flow tested that, besides SLP? And is that stock or aftermarket filter?

Pretty sure the stock one is more than 700 cfm.

Besides more does not mean better, it just means it is not a restriction. However it can also cause other bad issues like turbulence.
I am partial to ours, but ours is the Mamba and if I had to pick one besides mine it would be Jim Hall's from Halltech.

So you're saying the power efficiency of a LS7 drops off dramatically after 5600 RPM, due to no longer having the ability to ingest more air? Kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Also, you make maybe 5 extra horsepower. It's not really worth it

Ha. All I know is I had a blackwing and it was the sh!tiest design ever. The lip on the bellows was too narrow and it wouldn't stay on the throttle body. 20 miles and it would slip off and the car would start throwing codes and idling like ***. Went Halltech and never looked back.
