Both brand headers are good. I would get the ones that I could get the best deal on.
I know, that's not what you wanted to hear...but.
The Pfadt's are suppose to make a little more low-end torgue.....the
AR's probably will do a little better on the uppper end.
I'm getting headers later this year. I will buy what I can get the best price on, as long as it's one of the major makers.

Halltech's MF 103 with beehive is a great intake. We run ARHs in all of our cars. We never have had any issues. The tune is the biggest factor here. Your tuner should turn on your fans earlier and do not command greater than 90%.

You can do a 'search' on 160 therm. and be able to read most of the day. The opinions will be about 50/50 on there use. I have one and like the cooler temps. It does take longer for your oil temp to get up, tho.

Well....I had it done and have no intentions of un-doing it, so.....
The cost is not going to be much of a problem.
The oil temps, especially in winter takes a long time to get up, but there's ways to get around that problem by blocking the oil cooler with something. I don't drive mine much in the winter, so it's not an issue with me. If I do....I just pudder around longer and get the temps up.
I like the cooler water temps on the hot days of summer and stuck in traffic.
This is my opinion. That and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee, and for everyone that likes the 160 there will be one that says it sucks.
Go to the 'red' area at the top of this page, find 'search, and type in 'thermostate', read what the guys say, and maybe you can decide yea or nea.
Good luck with your mods.

Larry

It's worth installing the 160*F stat; however, your temps will rise above that. My car gets to 199*F during hot humid summer weather when waiting in line at the track.

MY CAR GET 103C IN SUMMER AND THE DEALER TOLD ME ITS TOTALLY NORMAL .

ONE OF THE GUYS ON THE FORM POSTED:-

Running a cooler temp stat just means the stat will open at a lower temp. If the stat opens at a lower temp, coolant doesnt get a chance to dissipate heat in the radiator.
If coolant cant dissipate heat thru the radiator fast enough a lower temp stat could possibly stay open all the time. Resulting in a overheat situation.
Unless you have a radiator that can handle dissipating heat faster than your engine can make it dont think a lower temp stat is going to give you any gains.

THATS MADE ME THINK GET RID OF THE 160 THERM IDEA BUT YOUR KEEP SAYING ITS WORTH IT???

THATS WHY IM CONFUSED

Default Headers

I would sugest that you consider Billy Boat Performance Exhaust Headers also. Quality product and American made !! They are located in Phoenix,Arizona.

Normal does not equal good. When you reach certain ECTs and certain IATs, you begin to pull timing. The idea is to run at more optimum temps so this does not happen. I have been at the track in temps reaching 98*F (37*C) without issue. You may see ECTs rise above 199*F in stop and go traffic but still remain below 220*F.
