Sat in the Vette today, with a seemingly dead, but new, battery, while on the phone to AAA. While on the phone, the CD changer started to do it's thing and displayed the message "Changer Parked". Almost immediately after it finished, it started again. After it parked the changer, it displayed the "Changer Parked" message. As soon as it was done, it started again.
AAA guy showed up and ran some tests. His battery tester found a 2.3 amp draw, which may have been the cause for my new battery to discharge itself completely several times in the past week.
We pulled the fuse for the radio and the draw went away. Another boost and fired up the car and was able to for today.
Has anyone heard of this particular issue? My car is an '09 Z06, 2LZ with the 6CD changer. Car is completely stock, with the exception of a new AAA battery.
Sounds like there's an issue with the CD changer. Perhaps it doesn't like one of the CD and keeps trying to find its "home" position as a result. My truck was doing something similar with one CD. After I pulled that CD, everything was fine. Worth a shot....
Someone brought this up a couple years ago. The story was similar, right after a new battery was installed this issue came up. I didn't find any info searching this Forum but did find some references on a Pontiac forum. The answer seemed to be to eject all CD's, reload and play them briefly.
