Supporting Components for Pfadt Header Installation?
I also did the Elite insulated tunnel plate, which is a nice piece as well.
I did this install in my garage, by myself, with the car on 18" lift jack stands and it was a breeze compared to some of the header installs I've done over the years. I am completely happy with my headers and I love the "Jekyll and Hyde" personality it has with the NPP exhaust. When those valves pop open at 3,000 rpm, it sounds like a completely different engine.
These are world class in terms of design, workmanship and power production. I can't wait until I get it retuned for the headers and then, when i get bored with that, I'll throw a blower, stall and maybe a nice blower cam in it and let it eat...

Amen, brother!
I love how these things make my car sound when the NPP exhaust cracks open, like it has a big Ferrari V8 in it.
We are getting the tune honed now and I can feel a big difference in torque. It can rip the hell out of the run craps now, just by rolling into the throttle from a standstill. I had it sideways a couple of times now, launching like that and manual shifting it into second, with the AH/TC turned off. My car is definitely much more fun now. Feels like my old '98 H\C high stall Z28. Can't wait to pump some more power out of it.
Thanks again for encouraging me to buy these headers.
- There are no CEL's (though I'm sure I'll get a CEL soon enough for Catalyst Deficiency)
- The strange thing was that I was getting a message on the DIC that said "Engine too hot AC disabled" and the fan is on full speed all the time, though the engine temps aren't even at operating yet, is that normal? I'm thinking it's because it can't get a reading from the rear O2's (as they are removed) it's thinking the cat has cooked itself and isn't working and therefore it's assuming that the engine is too hot? Is that right?
Any thoughts?

If after a while the ECM doesn't see the temperature rise to indicate the engine is warmed up, it is programmed to assume massive coolant loss and will throw that code. I learned that a few years ago when I tried running a gutted thermostat in my L92 Truck.

I will have to check tonight I hope I just knocked the wire off and not broke it
Now go and get an Intune with a custom tune from Diablew and let her rip!

Now go and get an Intune with a custom tune from Diablew and let her rip!

Already had an inTune and a Diablew tune for a year
we're just tweaking it now for the headers.
