Default Header Compatibilities?

I am in the market to get a set of Headers for my '08 LS3 Auto. I am aware that some people look into getting Z06 manifolds and the likes as an upgrade. Does that mean that the Z06 and LS2/3 would have the same header bolt/fit/whatever? I see on every site that there is a specific part for Z06, one for LS2, one for LS3, and then dating back to the older LS1.

I have searched around but have failed to find someone outright say that an exhaust for an LS1 will fit on an LS3 or that the headers for a Z06 will work. Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?

Check this out. This is by far the best diagram I have ever seen of the differences between the various exhaust ports on LSx engines:

I just bought the Pfadts and I have never seen a header with anywhere near the quality workmanship.

So what im getting is that the Pfadts are the same header regardless of which later model LSx engine?

More down to my point, if I were to buy OBX headers for a C6 with a 6L LS2, it would fit my LS3?

I dont really want to start a "dont buy from this manufacturer" argument...

Call the manufacturer. Anything else is a guess.

the headers will bolt on to any of the the engines. the larger diameter will work best on the ls7 and cammed ls2-3 engines. the mid pipe section is where it is at. the Z has 3" pipes all the way back, the ls2-3 have 2 1/2 pipes so a reduction will be required either by buying the mid section all done up or having it done at a muffler shop. if you change the mufflers with an automatic, you have to be carefull because larger pipes have a hard time fitting.

It will bolt up, but it depends on how the bolt holes are aligned to the pipe centerline, whether the port lines up perfectly with the header flange/primary opening. If you look at the diagram, you wil see that the floor of the LS2 port is lower than on the LS3. Looking at that diagram, the header is built properly (aligned properly in reference to the port opening, there shouldn't be a problem, even with a 1 3/4" primary with putting an LS3 header on an LS2, IMV.

Calling the manufacturer may help, but they will most likely tell you that it will fit, which it will, although you might end up with part of the port being blocked by the header primary, if its badly constructed.
