I love BOTH engines and one cannot go wrong with either choice.
You can't be more right! Those are exactly my same thoughts!!

There is a local red h/c C5Z that went 10.9 and is the only other that I'm aware, but he didn't care to post it. LSoholic claims to have cut a 1.4 60' and trapped 132 mph in his h/c C5Z, but for some reason hasn't posted. Braciole I thought ran a faster time than what is listed too. Regardless I agree that most who have run an amazing time in this day and age would post about it as they didn't just go out there and magically pull it off, it took time to work it down. On a side note, do you think Marc's A6 LS2 has potential to be faster than your A4 LS2?
Andrew went 10.52.

To be fair, Matt built this car for a customer who wanted a FI setup so he had put in a custom cam specifically for that application. We had no idea that it would run as fast as it did. In its present condition, there is a little more left in it. (mostly in its 60') If robz specs a cam for it like he did his H/C LS6, we know the times will be better. I will not speculate on how much better since I do not keyboard race. However, suffice it to say that it would not disappoint. This is not to claim that the LS3 is any better, quicker or faster than an LS2 but is only to clarify the purpose of this particular build.

BTW- John, the owner of the car, made his first 10 second pass today. That was the highlight of my day. He is now torn between going all out N/A or a FI build. Stay tuned.

Yous ever think the LS2s are goin' faster because they are making less power therefore its easier to hook up the tires @ the track? LOL but seriously this thread is gay, LS2 LS3 LS7 LS9 there all awesome motors & they all have there + and - 's... I just can't seem to come up with a logical answer how you ls2 guys can say its the better motor tho, if that was the case why would GM only run it for 2 years and create an ls3 and run that for 6? And why do the ls2 guys slap on ls3 heads and mainifolds? Hmm...

Nobody is hating Dennis... That's all in your head. Your giving yourself way to much credit just suggesting so. I'm simply discussing the subject, your the one adding the drama.

I personally just disagree that there woul be any difference between the LS2 & LS3 when it comes down to modding...

Your point that the exclusive "Corvette Forum" fast list is a 100% accurate account of all corvettes who have ever graced the quarter mile is a bit ignorant to say the least.

Sure, you could say its the top list for the "Corvette forum" but to suggest that list covers / represents any more than than outside of the forum is simply not true and makes your conclusion unfounded. There are thousands of corvettes on the road today... Your list samples less that 1% of them... Come on man... Just think about it.

As for my best time in my GS, since you asked, I have yet to take mine to a quarter mile track... Not that I have not wanted to but mainly due to the distance to get to one. I have however spent a good amount of time on the road course at the Homestead Miami Speedway... If you haven't taken your Corvette around a road course yet, you don't know what your missing!

Also, currently my car is still bone stock, I'm in the process of deciding what direction I want to take the car in... Every car I have ever owned has been quarter mile purpose built... I'm leaning towards setting up for the road course more than raw straight line performance though... I do appreciate both types of racing though.

Either way, nobody hating from where I stand...

Lol... I'm sure your faster than me... Mine is bone stock...

AIR RAM Is the name of my business... (AIR RAM PERFORMANCE) ... I'm just hanging out getting a feel for the community so to speak. I'm un likely to be chasing the "quickest" title... I have recenty been bitten by the road course bug... But I admire those of you who are "quarter mile" runners... Like I said, I have lived that life for over 20 years... Most in classic Pony cars than Modern sports cars though. Either way... I just love SPEED... I don't care what it's in... If your fast, you have my attention.

Dennis, I think the impersonal way forums tend to make us appear don't accurately represent what we are tying to say all the time... I got nothing against you, we both like and enjoy the same thing... Fast cars and more specifically fast Vetts... We just failed to agree on a single point... It doesn't make you bad... And I don't think it makes me bad...

That's good... I was in the market for the new BOSS 5.0 when I found my GS for a grand less... That new 5.0L is an impressive power plant... 444HP from a 5 liter is just insane.... And boost friendly to add, it's very impressive to say the least.

Let me know if there is anything your needing performance wise... In most cases I can get them to your door for less...

Eric I never said it was the better motor I said so far its the faster motor, also it was in production for 3 years 05-07, the reason guys go with the LS3 heads and intake is because its cheaper, a lot cheaperthe LS1 and LS6 is a pretty good motor too

Good idea, the only meets I have ever seen are always up north, its always a good day meeting at a track rental. l have thought many times, could there be one faster. I live 12 miles from atco, I know all the workers, hundreds of my friends go every week, even if the person doesn't post or involved in the internet. lots of people at the tracks are, and plenty take video, its even easier with all the phones. and it would be posted by someone else just to shut me up
