One word of advice. Do not race if the trans temps are below 140. 160 to 180 is the premium range. Anything below 200 is still OK, but avoid going over that.

Good advice. I turn off the fan when I go to the track. I let the temp get to about 160ish before making a run.

I have a "Casper" switch in my car to turn ON or OFF the regular engine fan.. It will run the fan with the engine OFF between rounds..
How does your fan switch for the trans cooler work.. Is the "default" set so the fan is always ON and you have the option off & on .. ??
How is yours set up... I was thinking of moving the cooler I already have off to the LEFT or RIGHT side so it will get "clean air" (now its located directly behind the air intake for my Vararam & I think thats blocking cool air from getting to the trans cooler...
OR maybe I could just buy another small cooler and hook it up to run in conjunction with the cooler I already have ????
I also have the casper switch for the fans. Works well.
The fan on my trans cooler is wired to be on all the time, which is how I want it for normal driving. At the track, if it isn't up to temp, I remove the inline fuse (which I mounted under the hood in an easy spot to reach), and allow the trans to warm up a bit more.

Great thank you... I'm going to the shop Wed. and will toss a few ideas around.. I like your set up.. as I ALWAYS open the hood after a round to help cool the engine.. I can do like you did, but I'm a little older and more forgetful than you most likely are so I'll install a toggle switch with a small RED LIGHT hooked up in the circuit so I will know if the fan is OFF.. I'll mount the light bulb INSIDE the cabin of the car on the center console or some other convenient place... Thanks
