Default Tire Balance

Anyone have any experience with using Dyna Beads for balancing your tires? Looking at there web sight it looks pretty simple & straight forward. Plus it works with tire pressure monitors. Any comments good or bad?

I use them on the 39" tires on my Suburban. I've never tried them on a car though.

I use them on motorcycles and love them. No ugly weights and dynamic balancing that changes as tires wear. These things are used in all types and sizes of tires but I've only got experience on bikes. If you think about it though, balance is a lot more sensitive on a bike tire.

When the skins are due on the 2003 I just bought, I'll be using Dyna Beads.

They are incredible....I used them on my Colorado with 31's, got over 80 thousand miles on the tires with original balance, and they had perfectly even wear.

The only drawback I've heard is there may be clearance issues between the weights and the brakes.

This is from www.innovativebalancing.com, the makers of DynaBeads:

" While our product is designed to be used without weights on most vehicles, we advise customers with low-profile tires to use a specified Maintenance Level in their tires and keeping the weights on has accomplished two goals: The ride smooths out noticably, and most future rebalancing requirements have been eliminated. This is also the solution for customers having tires with an existing lateral imbalance."

To find the correct "Maintenance Level", go to the FAQ's on their website.

Just find a shop that does things right. I'd never put crap like that in my tires, whether it works or not. I personally balance my bike's tires, and never an issue. Similar to putting 'Slick 50' in your oil, or a 'tornado' in your intake system. If all that crap was that great, manufacturers would use it .

A shop that does things right? I've got one of those and I have them install all my new motorcycle tires with DynaBeads. Crap? I rode my bike 6,000 miles with DynaBeads and never had an issue - other than the tires ran perfectly during the whole trip. Tires also seem to last longer. You wouldn't use them even if they work? Hope you don't feel the same about ABS brakes, traction control and a host of other innovations that work.

I don't have a clue why manufacturers don't use them and I really never gave it much thought, but give this a thought. If manufacturers led the way in innovation, there wouldn't be such vast aftermarket offerings for every type of vehicle on the road. Your factory tires the best? How about that exhaust system? And everyone knows how superior factory sound systems are! Manufacturers are motivated certainly by offering quality products in a very competitive market, but that is always balanced against COST ... cost of manufacturing, cost of goods sold, product life, etc. Innovation isn't even close to the top of their priority list until they have to innovate to catch the competition.

To each his own ... me, I think DynaBeads are a great product.
