Default Shifting problem

2007 LS2 manual 6 speed. Car ran fine last time out, about a month ago. Started it up, but would not go into gear while running. Clutch did seem harder to push. This problem happened while the car was sitting in the garage. Any ideas as to what is going on, master cylinder, slave cylinder, neutral safety switch, air in lines, etc.?

Will it go in gear when not running? Have you checked the clutch master cylinder for fluid? If it goes in gear when shutdown, what happens when you start it in gear?

It shifts fine when not running. It struggles to start when in gear, sometimes it won't, but when it does, it takes off, even with the clutch depressed.

Hi dgood,

Keep me posted if there is anything I can do on my end to help out! Hopefully it's a quick fix.

Is there any clutch hydraulic fluid leaking from under the car? What does the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder look like?

Your clutch hydraulic system is NOT disengaging your clutch! You either have a leak, there is air in the system or BOTH.

If you drive your car like it is now, you will for sure damage the transmission synchros!

Check the master cylinder reservoir and make sure it has clean fluid and its full to the full mark.

Look for leaks near the master cylinder and at the bell housing.

You most likely have a damaged leaking master cylinder. Prey its nit a bad slave cyl!

If the master cylinder is dry, leak somewhere, fluid on ground somewhere. Need new master or slave.
