The two problems of using toggle bolts are the head of the bolt doesn't fit through the shroud hole, so it has a tendency to pop out (I lost 2) and that the bolt is only 4" long, which again allows it to pop out. Additionally, the toggle is hard to adjust and relies on tension to keep the bolt from unscrewing.
The method I described resolves all the issues inherent with toggle bolts.
yeah i'm guilty of not really looking it over. if that could be modified to function better that would be great.

My shroud on the Z06 doesn't look the same and the oil cooler goes through it. anything similar the Z06 guys doing

After seeing this video I decided there are other things I would rather spend the money on.

Cold Air Intakes Mythbusted [Naturally Aspirated] - YouTube
doesn't really represent what real world would be. that fan isn't pushing +100mph winds. The thing is, regular filter locations pick air up from the underhood temps which are usually much higher than ambient.
Cold air intake don't "actually" make cold air, but if its 25degrees outside, and 50degrees underhood, cold airs will pick up much closer to 25degrees in motion then the standard type. Thing is, some cars come with pretty decent set-ups.

If you're running something like a fast 102 with 102 throttle, you need something that will not funnel the flow but feed it with the least amount of restriction, having a stock 92mm going to a 102mm opening seems pointless.

Well their you have it people. Two Dumb Jerk Off's!!!! see how easy it is for the dumb to lead the dumber cold air intake is exactly what it is called and will not produce any gain on the dyno, and relocating the air filter and pickup tube still in the engine compartment doesn'tmake it a cold air system.

You can remove your air cleaner and cut, or drill some holes in the bottom of the compartment.(it's plastic)
If I did this I would stick to the outside areas. Letting cool air, but cutting down on the turbulences around the mouth of the filter.

I have tuned 100's of C5 and C6's and most all of them have some sort of CAI---
The only true way to see if you may be making more HP is to data log your airflow and see if the airflow has increased My experience tells me the CAI that adds the most airflow is the Varraram and the Vortex Rammer----Anytime you get a lean code from a CAI most think it's a bad thing but in reality it's telling you that your airflow has increased approx. 20% --- that is huge----If a CAI requires a tune---then that's the one you want for max HP but to get all the HP left on the table you need a tune----CAI's that require NO TUNE mean that they do not add much airflow---some owners are OK with this but those who want max HP will be happy when they need a tune as that CAI after tuning can add as much as 20 RWHP --A CAI that add little airflow and does not require tuning falls into the category of most CAI's an average of 8-10 RWHP---
