What are my options? Wait till it blows or have my stock diff upgraded or swap to a c6 or c5z? Ill be looking to make 600-700rwhp and possibly in a yr or so build a stroker and shoot for 1k+.

Forum member http://forums.corvetteforum.com/memb...turytrans.html has a lot of good post on this subject. On my 07 I went with RPM - http://www.rpmtransmission.mobi/differentials.html Good luck with your build!

Most economical route is C5Z and a bracket made by Stanger383 but at a 1K HP, I would speak to RPM. If you wait till it breaks, you might need a transmission too.

Quick solution (but not permanent) is a tranny brace. Long term solution is the C5Z three rib solution above or later model LS3/Z06 diff.

I only have 550 at the wheels and have a C6 diff with HD pinion bearing, Quaife center, hardened out put shafts and a brace. Not sure what you need for more HP.

I agree for 1000HP I might go c6 z06 diff (call RPM)if you can live with the 3.42 gear... But if you decide to go c5Z let me know. here is a model of my brackets that allow a direct bolt in of the c5z diff

RPM has 373/390/410 gears available for the C6 Z diff.

I got my gears and other parts from them. Nice people that know their stuff. I used a European Z51 case.

3:73 gears and a lumpy cam work really well together.

I'm at 600 to the tire and went with Stanger383's C5Z swap mount. LOVE the mount. Last week I snapped the driver's side stub axle at the track. 3 hours later RPM had it back on the ground with new 300M shafts and Carbon clutches. Won't have that issue again. I do plan on adding a brace and C5 outer axles/CVs over the winter, and most likely have my trans upgraded to a Stage 5 by RPM as well.

I know they weren't available a few years ago when they did mine but unless I'm totally misreading their web site they are available.

Rodney at RPM is a good friend of mine and I can assure you that nobody makes a gear set for that case. If some one must deviate from the 3.42s they either go with 06+ diff or the C5 diff. they can build a diff for any power level you can dish out

I don't think anyone knows this stuff better than RPM, and I hope that you don't have the bad luck I did. I broke one of those 300m shafts. Since replacing it with the newer re-engineered DSS shafts, (supposedly stronger than 300m ) I haven't had a problem.
