Default Chronic Back-up Safety Switch Replacements

I know there's a thread on this, but this is a slightly different topic and I don't want to upset the "don't resurrect an old thread" gods....

I've now had to replace my (#89060011 ) switches twice in 6 months and 1000 (or so) very hard miles.

They were fine for many miles when I drove my car normally, now that I've been doing laps at Sebring theyt're falling like flies. Could it be heat?

Any chance you are using the switches with a higher current load then they are rated for?

Could be, I just used the recommended A/C delco replacement part. Is there more than one?

I don't know. I think I misunderstood your original post. Sorry.

Could it be all the vibration you experience when driving that track? The bumps through T17 and down the front straight are especially memorable add that to the heat build up in the drive train and you could have a good cause for the switches failing.

Makes sense, I'm going this weekend - I'll see if any of the other c6 regulars are having the same problem.
