Tire are the most effective modification when considering autocross type of racing. The second thing to consider is get some autocross/driving lessons.
I wouldn't spend that much money honestly.. Most people don't drive their vetoes to the full potential anyways... If suspension is an issue.. change sways bars potentially maybe some new shocks or coil overs.. you said your wife already runs pads.. so maybe a better rotor stainless lines castrol SRF fluid.. an intake is easy hp with a tune... headers good for torque.. stay away from a fast intake you WILL loose low end power and the LS3 needs all it can get... a good cam is an option but like I said you don't need HP to go faster driver mod can always be improved... there is so many option honestly but you should be at the end all with the current power.. sticky tires is always nice too.. find some scrub hoosiers from GT racing tires like 500 bucks and that will be fun! you could add some small aero and be ok with a stock suspension...
Thanks for the tire suggestions. She uses Hoosier R6's in stock sizes and Continental GT-O's in a 31/71/19 R and 285/645/18 F. They seem to suit her fine. She's a big sideways girl on street tires and the slicks have helped her make up some time. Reminds me a lot of me actually. My friend who was instructing her and following me says "it must run in the family". That was on the slicks. Made me laugh.
We use Wilwood and DBA piece rotors but for the money they make no difference. Stock rotors work just fine too.
I have considered sending her to Bondurant but more than likely I am going to get her a professional coach. I do not know if they have advanced courses at Bondurant.
The other mods I have clarified and pinned down.
I am going to run it up to the dyno to see what it makes bone stock. That will tell us exactly what the mods get us. Hopefully retains the incredible reliability it has shown her so far.
I will be happy if I can get it with me driving to be a 1:10 and change car at NJMP Lightning. For performance reference Andrew Aquilante went 1:06 and change in an STO LS7 powered C6. A 1:10 puts you right at the sharp end of the old rules T1 times. That's where I expect it will be.
