If a quality set is too expensive new, search for a used set in good condition.

I don't know "HOW CLOSE" the Ca. emissions shops look, but here in NY they just plug into the plug under the steering wheel...

IF they did have to do a "VISION" inspection I know the owner well enough so he would look at it as well as Ray Charles & I'd pass...

It was the same way in Ct. they never busted balzz if you knew them...

Cant you get to know someone at the inspection station and when you need inspection he will have poor eyesight.. I've been doing it that way since MV Inspections started.. I now have KOOKS long tube headers (with cats) and inspection is a wiz.. no problems at all..

"IS EVERY INSPECTION STATION IN CA> THAT MUCH OF A DICK ??"

Wish i knew. I haven't had a car inspected since I don't know when. I need to checkout that when you first go to get checked, does that 'check' then remain in the 'system' /state wide, so if you go to another location, they'll have a record or the other stations smog check/if you got caught at another smog station?

Good point.

Some how some CA folks are avoiding the CARB/smog problem. All tight lipped.

How can headers be illegal but a cam n blower not be? Headers don't cause more greenhouse gases while blowers n cams do. Wtf?

Pfadt. Without question. Best fit and best quality welds I've ever seen. I put them on my 13 Vette in my garage by myself without any help. There was no need to adjust anything and they don't hit or rub anywhere. The torque from the tri-Y design is amazing. I have ARH 1 7/8" headers and ORY on my 2008 Denali AWD and they are good quality and generally fit okay, except the one of the primaries rubs on the steering shaft. That cost me a new steering rack before I figured out what it was. I had to slacken the steering shaft assembly and pry it over a bit to keep it from rubbing, although it still does a little bit when it's in reverse and the drivetrain torques over to the left. Very annoying. If Pfadt offered headers for my truck, I would buy them in a heartbeat. I'm assuming they fit much better on the vettes as everyone that has them seems to like them. I just couldn't take the chance based on the experience I had with my truck. Just my 2 cents...

I had Kook headers on my C5 and was pleased with the result but they were a pain to install. I had the headers Jet-Hot coated, installed a starter heat shield and had Elites Thermal Abs added as well. I'm not saying you need all the extras but the heat transfer was never an issue for me.

Thanks for the support! I suppose I should tell the engineers to make some truck headers this year?

To the OP: We make amazing headers here at Pfadt. Considering time/labor/expense, I easily consider out Tri-Y to be a "bang for the buck". However, in California there are some additional considerations, and our tune products might be a better option. Feel free to contact me anytime with questions,

Default American Racing Headers

By far the best customer service I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. My previous car was a 2007 FOrd Mustang GT with ARH long tubes, and a Procharger. 2 days after picking her up I could hear an exhaust leak, Long story short is installer blamed warped franges, I call ARH and bring the car to them, They emove while i watch show me how flat the flanges are and then show me the HUGE globs of RTV used to hold the gaskets in place as well as halp the studs were loose. They reinstall properly and never an issue again. Top notch company, Made in the USA, Great products. I am a customer for life
