Default Differential cooler

I recently purchased shop manuals for my 05, while looking through them I noticed reference to and pictures of a rear differential cooler. It's been a while since my car has been in the air and I don't recall seeing that particular cooler. I have a 05, 6 speed and the Z51 option. Can someone tell me what cars would have this cooler?

Do you have the part numbers needed for this?

Not simple. I bought the parts off of a ZR1, then had have the pinion machined to accept the pump. You also need to change the side cover to accept the cooler. 05 is different than 06, but you need to get with one of the diff builders on the forum if you want to install one.

When I did it, i installed 3:73 gears, Quaiffe, hardened shaft etc, so I built a new diff out of parts.

To be frank, 05 diffs are junk, I would upgrade to an 06 or newer diff at the same time.

Its a little more involved dropping a stock 06 diff on a 05 due to the difference in the spines (27 to 31), but RPM does have you covered.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page for a Mechanical differential cooler pump option.

Z06 is 31 spline, reg is 27, I believe. The issue if I recall, you need an adapter between the trans and diff to make 06up diff work in an 05.

You can buy those OE pump cheap on the forum and for $50 they will machine the pinion for you, assuming you buy the gears from them.

All I know is that when I got done, I had $4K in my diff, but I put all the good stuff in it and used all new parts.
