I would like to put a set of hedders on my 2011 GS to wake up the LS2 in her but I have some concerns. If I use long tube hedders what else will i need to replace (cats, mid-pipe)? What are my other options? Is there some sort of short tube hedders I can use my factory cats with and if so what is the difference in performance? What brand would be best? I know I know a lot of questions. Thanks for your help.
First of all your car has an LS3 not a LS2. If you purchase long tube headers they will come with either a catted mid pipe or non catted mid pipe (your choice). You will need a tune if you go long tubes. If you are just wanting to delete the cats you could just go with some cat delete pipes but that also requires a new tune.

This is not true at all. If you buy Longtubes, they do not always come with any type of mid pipe. It is usually a completely separate purchase but a needed purchase as the stock h pipe will not fit due to length.

You sir have a very unique 2011 GS if it has a LS2 LOL . Your LS3 GS would wake up a greatly with a nice set of longtube headers. As stated previously you can buy the longtubes complete to your axle back with or without cats. I would do some due diligence and research the headers to hone in as to what your budget and your expectations are for the car ( 1 3/4 or 1 7/8). Ive had American Racing, Kooks and SW longtubes. All great headers in my opinion. I run Kooks 1 7/8 on my car right now and I love them. But its honestly personal preference as to what longtubes you want to run. Hope this helped alittle, Jay
Did the instillation make a difference in the felt power? Could you feel the difference in the seat of your pants as they say?
I drove it for a week and I honestly didn't beat on it prior to the tune. I threw the cam and fast intake in it the next weekend, got it tuned and let her eat!! LOL. Jay

Actually it is true, Every set of long tubes advertised on this very forum come with a new mid pipe BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO HAVE ONE and it's not a separate purchase.

I guess Marylandspeed.com selling headers and mid pipes separate is a fluke.
BTW, I have Longtubes and didn't need a aftermarket mid pipe so YOU DON'T NEED ONE. Just need to be a little creative.
