I have a 2007 z51 manual with an e-force supercharger with 550 RWHP
Today I was at WOT in third and at 5000 rpm the vette was like tamped at the left rear, passing the fourth she gave me the same thing at 5000 rpm. Arriving at home, checking if it was not a defective tie rod or other thing I realized that the left seal of the differential was beginning to leak. (fresh and clear differential oil)
Do you think I have a differential problem ?
How the shaft can damage the seal in these conditions ?
Is this a known problem ?
I don't know if this helps, but I have an 08 Z51 and when I was getting a rear right stud replaced the vette tech saw the right rear axle seal was leaking. They changed it under CPO warranty luckily because it's around a 4-6 hr job. I didn't have any symptoms at the time other than a stud missing which was most likely due to a pothole.
In third at 6300 rpm I was at 173 km/h (109mph) and at 220 km/h (136 mph) at 6000 rpm in 4th (logged whith HPTuners ;-))
Ok, today I changed the seal, I have not seen any damage
But when I removed the shaft, I discovered a play about .005" in the splines with the hub and bearing and the shaft. I check the other side and same play
That explains the "tic" "tic" I always hear when I start quietly at green light
